NATIONAL TRANSPORT UNIVERSITY

 

 

National Transport University is a state higher education and scientific institution, established in 1944.  It awards Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD and Doctoral degrees in full-time and part-time study programs. There are 5 faculties at the university, where the training is conducted in 26 specialties and 51 educational programs for the preparation of bachelors and 41 educational programs for the preparation of masters. Since 1963 the university has trained international students from 20 countries. There are 4 specialized academic councils in the University, provide 8 Scientific Specialty. There are 8 separate units in cities in Ukraine, 3 educational centers: Distance Learning Center, Center for advanced training, retraining, improvement of management and specialists. Since 2000 the University has opened the Scientific Research Institute “Transport and Construction Technologies”.

The main research areas of Department of Transport Systems and Road Safety are:

  • road transportation systems: developing a theory of transport process ;
  • improvements in traffic engineering techniques;
  • development of methodological principles for road traffic management;
  • developing the scientific basis of passenger flow management;
  • developing methodology for the enhancement of city transport systems;
  • improvement in ecological characteristics of traffic engineering schemes;
  • research on psychophysical features of drivers’ behavior.
